Raised in California, Phil grew up playing football and baseball through high school. After high school, he joined the US Marines and then joined the Army in 2008. Phil was introduced to CrossFit in the fall of 2008 by some of his friends from the Marines. His first workout was “Jason” consisting of tons of muscle-ups and air squats, needless to say it crushed him. At that point he immediately fell in love and used the CrossFit and CrossFit Endurance Training Protocol to prepare for a multitude of Military Schools and tasks.

Phil received his CrossFit Level 1 in 2011 and began coaching at CrossFit Bishop in Bishop, CA. In 2012, he received his USAW Sports Performance Level 1 and became passionate with the sport of Weight Lifting. After moving to FT. Bragg, NC in 2013 Phil attended the Attitude Nation Level 1 certification. After moving to Clarksville, TN he found CrossFit Clarksville and after an internship program was allowed the honor to coach their awesome athletes. His hobbies include hanging out with his two awesome Munchkins Charles and Evelyn, going on adventures with his much better half Meghan, lifting heavy things, and of course they make him work sometimes and yes he loves his job too.
